M.N.T.F.A.

Welcome to Mid Northants Trout Fishers Association. We are one of the oldest fly fishing clubs in the country having started in 1952 to improve trout fishing in the area for local people. I have recently written our early history that you can read by opening the PDF file MNTFA History at the bottom of this page.

Today we have some excellent trout fishing facilities and our club is helping anglers to learn more, develop skills and help remind you that the best way to get better is to get out and go fishing.

To help with this, we offer a significant number of benefits to our club members:-

Monthly boat/bank matches on all the best known Midland trout waters all fished in a friendly manner
Regular club newsletters covering club and local fishery matters
Exciting winter programme with well known guest speakers learn how others are successful
Fly tying evening every Monday (except bank holidays) at a local pub - learn to tie your own flies and chat about fishing (see Club Nights)
Discounts at various tackle dealers
Qualified casting instructor members willing to offer advice
Third party insurance for all club competitions
We are a Federation member club which allows you to enter the England Eliminators and help influence national events
Representation for fishing at the Pitsford Users Committee, Pitsford beginners courses, Anglian Water Forum and Anglian Federation committee

We have a thriving mixed membership of very experienced anglers and relative novices and cater for all. We are a friendly club with members prepared to help one another with all aspects of fly fishing and fly tying.

The MNTFA offers all of this for only £10 per annum,which means you can choose which aspect of the club you want to be part of. It's a bargain,helps fishing and helps you. How can you resist.
