Powies End Of Season Thoughts 2011
After a very successful closing outing on Ravenesthorpe for the Bob Church Trophy in which we had 31 anglers out on the water, another season for the club matches is over. I would like to thank you all for the great turnouts we have had over the season, numbers have been up for most of the comps and good to see a couple of new faces and some returning members. The weather may not have given us the best conditions always but we have made the best of it . The trophies have been well spread around and I even managed one this year after 10 years of trying.
Next year is our clubs 60th anniversary and hope to see a good turnout for the event at Pitsford on June the 24th.
Time to check and tidy the kit and to start tying up some new flies for next year. This gives you something to help while away those long winter months and before you know it you will soon be out on freezing cold banks for the start of 2012.
I hope you all overwinter well and will be raring to go next year. May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Happy hooking
Regards
Powie
